Cross-cultural studies

Cross-cultural Studies

Phase 2 of the ENEIDA Project aims to advance the field of cross-cultural studies in English and Spanish for Research Publication Purposes (ERPP). These studies compare similar research publication genres, such as research articles, as they manifest independently within different writing cultures. The goal is often to inform teaching practices.

The two writing cultures examined in this project are Castilian Spanish and International English, as represented in research articles published in scientific journals across various disciplines. By analysing these texts, the project seeks to identify and evaluate the rhetorical structures and conventions unique to each language, ultimately enhancing our understanding and teaching of ERPP.
